Highlights From the Uniben Convocation Ceremony 2017

The Uniben 47th Founders Day Ceremony and 43rd Convocation was held in grand style at the Main Auditorium (Akin Deko Auditorium) with the presence of his Eminence, Mohammad  Sanusi  II the Emir of Kano, the Chancellor of the University, Rt. Hon. Isa Ashiru, Pro Chancellor and many other distinguished guests from across the country and beyond.

Highlights of founders’ day Ceremony was the lecture delivered by Dr. Solomon E. Arase the Former inspector –General of Police Federal Republic of Nigeria in which he spoke on the topic: Internal Security Dynamics and the imperative of a new policing thought in Nigeria.

The award ceremony was remarkable as a total number of Nine thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifteen graduates from the various faculties were awarded certificates with One Hundred First Class Degree, One thousand eight hundred and eighteen second class upper Degrees, four thousand five hundred and eighty six Second Class Lower Degree; one thousand and eighty one Third Class Degree; no Pass Degree, one Aegrotat Degree;  two certificate, One hundred and eighty eight Diploma degree, five hundred and  twenty seven unclassified; Two hundred and eleven Post graduate degree (PGd.), one thousand and nineteen Master of Science (M.Sc), one Hundred and two Doctor Of Philosophy.(PhD)

the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. O.B. Osadolor  presented the award of 2015/2016 Academic Session Best Graduating Students from the different Faculties with Miss Okonofua Daisy from the Faculty of Medicine emerging as the overall prize winner, alongside several other awards.

The Valedictory message was delivered by Esewi Flousohuo Obaseki from the Faculty of Life Science as the Chancellor, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II (CON) declared the Convocation closed.
