The Independence frenzy is long over, everyone has gone about his usual business.
Yet, this write-up by a brilliant student of the University is worth reading,
In it, he expresses his thoughts on the freedom state of a country which just clocked 58 years as an independent nation; exercising itself as a self-government with sovereign power over its territory.
The Independence generated mixed reactions from Nigerians, some celebrating and others only expressing dissatisfaction at the country’s current state.
Here is the brilliant piece of write up by the Social Works student expressing his thoughts about our Nation on independence day.
“Nigeria may have gained her political independence (freedom) from external control,
but Nigeria is yet to gain her freedom.
Since the inception of 1960 Nigeria has been kidnapped and held hostage by an elite group of domestic enemies; who have infiltrated our political arena.
The foundation upon which Nigeria was built is UNJUST, no wonder the country continuously cries out for PEACE & JUSTICE.
Nigeria may have gained her independence from external enemies, but she is yet gain her independence from her internal enemies.
The Nigerian government has been infiltrated by domestic enemies of the state.
#Our so called founding fathers divided Nigeria along ethnic, religious and political lines because of their selfish interest.
#God save Nigeria”
