The 2017 edition of the NUGA games held at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, saw University of Benin emerging at the 5th position with 24 medals. The medals include won 8 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.
This is after the University of Lagos (UNILAG) which stood at the fourth position with 9 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals, a total of 20 medals.
The University of IllOrin followed at the sixth position with a total of 30 medals with University of Nigeria, Nsuka at the seventh place.
The University of Port Harcourt dominated the games and emerged the victor with a staggering 150 medals of which 70, 47, 33 are gold, silver and bronze respectively.
The first runner up is the Ahmadu Bello University with 11 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals making a total of 15 medals. This was followed by the Benson Idahosa University (B.I.U) with 10 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 9 bronze medals.
