After two weeks of an industrial action that resulted in the closure of Non-Academic Activities in our Universities, the striking members of the Joint Action Committee which comprises of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU; Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU; and the National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT has finally reached a consensus with the Federal Government with the calling-off of the standing Strike.
The agreement was reached after long hours of deliberation between the striking bodies and the Federal Government on Thursday Morning. Following the development, Members of the Union were directed to resume duties by Monday 25th September.
Also, just like the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Joint Action Committee has given the federal Government a one month ultimatum for the implementation of the agreements entered into.
With this development, it is expected that, Academic as well as Non-academic Activities are to resume in full till the deadline given to the Government is reached
