Strike to Continue Says J.A.C ( SSANU, NASU, NAAT ) as Non-Academic Activities Remain Paralysed

The industrial action embarked upon by the Joint Action Committee has continued to cripple much of Non-Academic Activities in Public Universities across the Nation.

The strike which began in December 2017 has continued for over a month, still there is no sign of its end in sight as the federal government is yet to enter into negotiations with the striking the bodies.

Despite the negative impact of the strike on School operations and its activities, the leadership of the J.A.C has called for stricter implementation of the order until their demands are met by the federal government.

With this, basic needs such as water supply, electricity supply may be withdrawn in addition to the stoppage of health services, library and others.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), other bodies and concerned individuals have continued to appeal to the federal government to enter into negotiations with the striking bodies to no avail.

The J.A.C comprises of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU as well as National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT.
