The National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) has put out a circular declaring a three days state of emergency at the University of Benin after an emergency meeting held at the June 12 Building.
According to the Association, it has expended every means possible to peacefully tackle the issue of the recently rusticated students and so, in a unanimous agreement, declared a shutdown of all academic activities within campus for a period of three day beginning from today 6th of February to the 8th of February.
In addition, the Union has also declared that, a “sit at home no lecture revolution” will be embarked upon till the authority reverses its decision.
At the time of filing this report, the school authorities are yet to react officially to this new development. We are keeping our fingers crossed…
