The trio of JEREMIAH EKENE (ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS), SUNDAY OBINNA IKEH (COMPUTER SCIENCE) and ROOSEVELT ONYIPREYE ABANDY (COMPUTER SCIENCE) have made Uniben proud, after having been selected for the ICT Seeds for the Future Program sponsored by Huawei Technologies Company.
The trio were picked after a successful outing at the Huawei Information and Network Academy (HIANA) organized in Lagos Nigeria. The event is to take-off in Shenzen, China in the month of October from 8th -20th.
14 institutions with over 200 students, from across the country, participated in the competition with the University of Benin taking a spot at the top five selected Universities that will be heading to China.
The Seeds for the Future program is Huawei’s global Corporrate Social Responsibility (CSR) flagship program, which was initiated in 2008, with the aim of developing local ICT talent, fostering knowledge transfer and promote a greater understanding the ICT Sector.
It also seeks to raise interest in the ICT sector, promote the building and participation in the digital community at the local level.
The trip is arranged and sponsored by Huawei Technologies Company; as such Huawei staff will accompany the participants throughout the duration of the trip.
Uniben continues to lead in the Academic front-line, establishing itself as a key player in Nigeria’s Education sector.
