A total of 8,276 graduants will be will be honoured in this year’s 44th convocation and 48th founder’s day ceremonies at the University of Benin, Benin City. Amongst them are 134 first class Graduates, 2,122 Second Class Upper, 4,864 Second Class Lower, 1,156 third class graduates and just one with a pass.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. F.F.O Orumwensee revealed this at a press briefing held at the University’s Ugbowo campus.
Earlier on, the university management announced dates for the programme of events for the forthcoming ceremonies.
The Vice-Chancellor also disclosed that, Dr. Margaret Idahosa, the Archbishop of Church of God Mission International and Chancellor of the Benson Idahosa University (BIU), will be conferred with a honorary degree for her outstanding contributions to education and human capital development in Nigeria.
Also, Prof. Augustine Orhue, a senior professor from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, School of Medicine, College of Medicine will be conferred with the Honour of Professor Emeritus at the Ceremonies.
