Academic activities continue to be on hold on Campuses as the ASUU strike continues to linger. Classes, Lecture Halls, places that used to be a hive of activities are now quickly drifting to still silence as more and more people and students continue to leave campus.
A total of 40 Federal and 44 State Universities has been grounded by the ASUU Strike which was embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities since on Monday 14th with the exception of University of Illorin and OAU which has decided to not join in the strike.
Our Great UNIBEN, after a congress meeting on Wednesday, joined in the industrial action which has resulted in the halting of academic activities within Campus, even final project activities has been affected.
But, there is hope on the way as the Minister of Education, Mr. Adamu Adamu has said that the ASUU strike will be called of the coming week.
Speaking at a meeting with the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund, the minister said that, one of the demands, made by the union, the payment of N1.5 billion monthly will be met by Monday next week.
